She is the goddess of victory. She has wings. She has long been headless. She is ancient. She dates back to about 250 BC. She is gorgeous, elegant, and an ode to victory. She was featured in some of Hollis Sigler’s work in her breast cancer series which I have loved since I was about 19. She’s hopeful. She’s made of white Parian marble. She’s huge. She was commemorating a victory of a long-ago civilization. She has withstood the test of time. Though she lost her hands and her head, she still has her wings and her beautifully flowing garments.
